PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Construction of a 16,000 sq. ft. metal frame commercial building with a second floor warehouse and a stucco feature wall.
COMPLETED: 2008
ACE HARDWARE, WILLOW CREEK
The owner of the Ace Hardware in Eureka, California, Mr. Jack Reike, had been looking for a site to build a new store in Willow Creek for some time. He asked for our help in selecting an appropriate site, one that could feasibly accommodate a new store of approximately 16,000 square feet. We helped in this process of elimination, as well as the selection of the site finally chosen, and the selection of the design team.
We assisted in the permitting and approval process, meeting with the various agencies involved, finally getting this to a point of permitting in the spring of 2008.
The structure itself is a pre-engineered steel building frame, finished out to suit the intent of the client. Mr. Reike wanted to make a community statement, and chose to have a mural done on the highway side of the project; we built this wall so that stucco could be applied for the artwork backdrop. Due to site constraints, warehouse area was located on a second floor.
FEATURES
This project has become a commercial centerpiece for the small town, and a valuable source of hardware, lumber, and landscaping supplies for the area. We derive satisfaction from having been included in and contributing to this successful project.
